Installed Server 2008, and no WiFi?

You're not alone, and no you didn't break anything!
I, like most other people (hopefully) ran into a small issue upon installing Microsoft Server 2008 R2, I couldn't get WiFi to work. If I recall correctly, my network showed up just fine, as well as all my neighbors, but connecting to either was apparently not possible. Ahh the frustration. What do you do in such a situation? Pay good ol' friend Google a visit (because the manual is for girls, right?)!

As it turns out, a fresh install of Windows 2008 (and R2) comes with wireless service disabled by default, my guess is as a security measure. Luckily the fix is simple, and you should be online using WiFi within a few minutes.

First let's go to Server Manager. Once there, we are going to click on "Features" and then "Add Features". Somewhere towards the bottom of the list you should see "Wireless LAN Service"... This is what we are looking for, so click the little check box next to it, and install, after completing the install wizard you should be good to go!
